Saathoff, 62, Beatrice, Neb., died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, at Parkview Center, Beatrice, Neb., surrounded by her family. She was born on Nov. 11, 1943, in Odell, Neb. She attended school through the eighth grade at District 132 in Gage County near Ellis. She attended her first year of high school in Diller and also attended Beatrice High School. She was a co-owner of the R & S Bar for 17 years. She worked at Grandma's Fruit Cake for nine years, and also worked at BSDC until she became ill. She loved her granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping, watching ice skating, traveling, and watching her family race. She was a diehard animal lover. Survivors: sons, Rodney Manley and wife, Annie, of Wymore, Neb., Gary Saathoff of Ellis, Neb.; one stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Lucas of Beatrice, Neb.; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Callie Lucas of Beatrice, Neb.; one stepgreat-grandson, Dakota Lucas of Beatrice, Neb.; brother, Virgil Wasserman and wife, Phyllis, of Fairbury, Neb.; sister, Denise Hoffman and husband, Jim, of Lincoln, Neb.; three aunts; numerous nephews and nieces; former husband, Harlan Saathoff of Beatrice, Neb. Preceded in death by parents, Adam “Butch” and Cena (Lottman) Wasserman; granddaughter, Amber Manley; first husband, Charles Manley. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, at St. John Lutheran Church, 701 N. 6th, Beatrice, Neb. Family prayer service at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday. Officiating: Pastor David Kramer. Burial: Prairie Home Cemetery, Diller, Neb. Visitation: Harman-Wright Mortuary, Seventh and Elk streets, Beatrice, on Tuesday from noon until 9 p.m. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. [from Beatrice Daily Sun] Winona M. “Winnie” Lottman, 88, of Beatrice, died Monday afternoon, Oct. 11, 2010 at the Wymore Good Samaritan Center. She was born April 29, 1922, at rural Wymore. She moved with her family to the Wilber area, where she attended grade school and later lived in the Diller area, graduating from Diller High School in 1941. She was married to Harry Lottman Jan. 24, 1942, at Beatrice and they lived and farmed in the Beatrice area. They retired and moved to Beatrice in 1983. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports, especially Nebraska football and volleyball and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Larry Lottman and wife Rachel of Wymore and Kenneth Lottman and wife Martha of Byers, Colo.; five grandchildren, Ricky Lottman, Rita Thompson and husband Lee, Tina Andreasen and husband Travis, Stacy Bright and husband Glen and Shawn Lottman and wife Ursula; four great-grandchildren, Haley, Katelyn and Jenna Bright and Collin Thompson; one sister, Delores Fiala and husband John of Beatrice; a sister-in-law, Erna Lottman of Beatrice; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gladys Fletcher Smith; her husband, Harry Lottman, who died March 31, 2002; and one brother, Kenneth Hull. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, at the Fox Funeral Home, 19th and Garfield, Beatrice, with Father Dennis Hotovy officiating. Private inurnment of the cremains will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice prior to the service. A memorial has been established to Samaritan Springs. There will be no viewing, but a register book for signatures will be available from 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct 13, until the time of the service on Thursday.
