M., June 3, 1930, when Miss Florence Bremer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Bremer, became the bride of Mr. Raphael Haas, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Haas of Loyal, the Rev. Father Blum, officiating. They were attended by Miss Roslyn B?tzold and Mr. Edwin Foltz, cousins of the groom. The bride wore an attractive gown of pale green silk chiffon with hat to match, and carried a shower bouquet of cream roses and baby breath. The bridesmaid wore sea green flat crepe with hat to march and carried a bouquet of pink roses. The groom wore a dark blue suit and his attendant wore oxford grey. After the wedding ceremony the newly weds motored to the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Bremer, where a wedding reception was held that evening, there having about one hundred guests present. The home was very attractively decorated with streamers of pale green, pink and white, and huge bouquets of bridal wreath ferns. On Wednesday the couple was treated to a miscellaneous shower at the Bremer home by their young friends, and after a very social evening, a dainty lunch was served. About forty guests were present. They were presented with a large assortment of pleasing individual gifts from several friends. Both the bride and groom are well and favorably known here, the bride being a graduate of the Loyal High School, class of ’27. The groom whose occupation is farming, is a young man of excellent character. Mr. and Mrs. Haas left Thursday morning by auto for a two weeks trip to Iowa and Minnesota. The Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy wedded life.2 |

Rowley, 80, Loyal, died on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 10, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Woodrow Pace officiated. Burial followed in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Pall bearers were Bob Augustin, Rich Neureuther, Gary Wittman, John Neureuther, Scott Wittman and Josh Poeppel. Donald George Rowley was born on Jan. 18, 1926. in Park Falls, to George and Gladys (nee Herdrich) Rowley. As a young child, he moved with his family to a farm south of Loyal. He was raised and educated in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1943. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served four years. He returned to Loyal after being discharged and worked for Wuethrich’s Dairy and sold milking machines. He married Geraldine M. Haas on April 27, 1950, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and spent the next 16 years in service. Upon completing his service in the Air Force, he and his wife moved back to Loyal. He worked at various jobs, including the Loyal Cannery, Art Craft in Spencer, and was a bartender at Hills Brothers Bowl, Loyal. He resided in Loyal until the time of his death. He was a member of the Loyal American Legion Post #175, and the 40 and 8 group, the Loyal Snow Angels snowmobile club, and was past scoutmaster for many years with the Loyal Boy Scouts. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, bowling and snowmobiling. Survivors include his wife, Gerry, Loyal; five children, Sandra (Bob) Augustin, Marshfield, Judy (Rich) Neureuther, New Berlin, James (Sharla) Rowley, Marshfield, Donna (Gary) Wittman, Marshfield, Pam Walker, Albuquerque, N.M.; 12 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Daryl (Dee) Rowley, Loyal; and one sister, Ilene (Bud) Schlinsog, Kenosha. Preceding him in death were his parents. Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, Assisted the family with arrangements.1 |
