Edna Korthauer -- Grant Park

Visitation for Edna E. (Schneider) Korthauer, 98, lifetime resident of Grant Park, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hub Funeral Chapel in Grant Park. She will lie in state from 9 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park until the 10 a.m. funeral services. Rev. Richard P. Don will officiate.

Burial will be in Heusing Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park, where she was a lifetime member, or to Provena Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais. She died Thursday (Aug. 17, 2006) at Provena Our Lady of Victory in Bourbonnais.

Mrs. Korthauer was born Oct. 15, 1907, in Grant Park, the daughter of Charles and Hazel Merwin Schneider. Her husband, Jerry L. Korthauer, whom she married Oct. 20, 1934, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park, passed away June 19, 1985. She was a member of the Women's Fellowship, the Tabitha Sewing Circle and the Hospitality Committee at her church.

Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Cheryl Korthauer of Mississippi; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Chris Oswalt, Jeremy and Kristin Korthauer; and one great-grandson, Jackson Oswalt.

Her parents and one daughter, Karen Janice Korthauer (March 16, 1974), are deceased.4
