He loved participating in the Scottish Society's local events, listening to his favorite band the Beatles, and taking his dog Ringo everywhere. David loved his family and children deeply, and could recall family memories long forgotten with amazing detail. He is survived by his loving, supportive wife of 8 years, Arlynda Blackburn and her family; his parents, Don and Laura Blackburn; siblings, Rachel Rodriquez, Joshua Blackburn, Anna Bowen and Caleb Blackburn; his children, Duma Blackburn-Avila and Kirsten Blackburn, and his 2 granddaughters; as well as numerous nieces, and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 18th, 10:30 a.m., at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., Bakersfield, CA 93305.2
