Daren was born on May 30, 1984 in Olney, IL. He was the son of William Lee Potts of St. Charles, MO and Margaret Jane (Stanley) Potts of Louisville.

Daren was attending Illinois Central College in East Peoria, IL to graduate in May with a certificate in welding. He currently had a certificate in Industrial Maintenance HVAC and a certificate in EDS (Electrical Distribution Systems).

He was employed at United Facilities in East Peoria while taking night classes. Daren enjoyed all outdoor activities especially dirt bike riding, snow skiing, swimming and camping. Daren was fun loving and at work they called him the "morale officer". He loved to make people laugh and always had a new joke to tell. He memorized movies and would tell what was going to be said before the actor spoke the words.

He had a special bond with his daughter. They made several trips together to the zoo, planetarium, museum, and just loved to spend time together playing Uno or board games.

His family is heartbroken and will dearly miss him.

Daren is survived by his daughter, Dayana Potts of Olney, IL, his mother Jane Potts of Louisville, his father William Lee Potts of St. Charles, MO, his grandmother Lucille Stanley of Louisville; aunts Linda Stanley, Brenda Stanley, Anita Stout, Linda Southwell and several cousins.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Delton Stanley formerly of Louisville and his paternal grandparents Bill & Joan Potts formerly of Bridgeport.

Arrangements are being handled by J.W. Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, IL where a private family funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Interment will be at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville, IL.

Memorial may be made to the College Fund for Dayana and will be received at the funeral home.1
