Geraldine D. Cornelius, 94, of Fort Loudon, PA passed away Thursday, March 29th, 2012 at the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA.
Geraldine was born in South Fork, PA on September 25, 1917, the daughter of the late Albert and Elsie Mae Smith. She was the widow of J. Edwin Cornelius who passed away in April of 1999.
She was a member of the St. Stephen Catholic Church in McConnellsburg, PA and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Cornelius is survived by Daughters Elsie Alma Drulis of Ft. Loudon, PA, Dorothy Lee Seiden of Atlanta, GA, Grandchildren Dena Goldy, Elizabeth Peck, Laura Ramsey, Nathan Seiden, Michael Seiden, Anne Stovall, nine great grandchildren, thirteen great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild. Preceded in death by brothers William Glenn Smith, Russell Smith, sister Gladys Smith and great great grandson Dominick Hoffman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 303 Lincoln Way East, McConnellsburg, PA,17233 at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012 with Father Joseph Nael officiating.
Interment at Saltillo Cemetery, Saltillo, PA.
There will be visitation on Monday, April 2nd, 2012 from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. with the family receiving friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.1 |

Elizabeth I. Altman Connor, 95, of Greensburg, formerly of Youngwood, died Monday, July 2, 2001, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. Born Jan. 5, 1906, in South Greensburg, she was a daughter of the late Ezra Edward and Matilda Steiner Altman. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Youngwood, its Philantea Class, and the Dames of Malta Order. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Connor; a brother, Thomas Altman; and two sisters, Bessie Miller and Catherine Altman.
She is survived by two sons, Francis L. Connor of Urbana, Ohio, and William Edward Connor of Milpitas, Calif.; four grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; a sister, Caroline Evans of Youngwood; and a brother, Walter Altman of Middletown. Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, where services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David S. Jack officiating.

Helen C. Momeyer, 89, of Youngwood, died Saturday, April 9, 1994, in Hempfield Township. She was born Oct. 14, 1904, in Somerset county, a daughter of the late William and Anna Mary Cornelius Connor. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Youngwood, Eastern Star of Greensburg, former member of the Youngwood Women's Club, and a former member and past president of the Youngwood PTA. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Momeyer; the following brothers: Walter, Edward, Lloyd and James Connor; and a sister, Leona Connor. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Downs of Monroeville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Euphemia Connor of Latrobe. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James L. Lester E. Momeyer, 89, of 120 S. Seventh St., Youngwood, died Saturday, July 27, 1991, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 21, 1901, in Smithton, a son of the late Presley D. and Lottie Hough Momeyer.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former Walworth Valve. Co., South Greensburg, for 43 years. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Youngwood, and a former member of the church choir. He was a member of the Youngwood Odd Fellows. He was a former member of the Youngwood Community Choraliers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Momeyer; and four sisters, Bertha Shupe, Zella Hough, Edith Dorman and Mary Brewer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Connor Momeyer; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) Downs of Monroeville; five grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters.1 |

ALBERT JAMES FOORE

Sheriff: Albert James Foore stands out as the agent of the law, order and decency of this section of the county, and the criminal has much to fear from him. He has done valiant work in the way of being instrumental in preserving the peace. He was born in Bedford County, Pa., April 17, 1878, and at the Round Knob School, of Broad Top township, Bedford county, he first began his early school training. His parents are both deceased. The father was of German-Indian, the mother of Irish descent. From 1922 to 1926 he was engaged in the hotel business at Robertsdale. Has been road supervisor and constable of Saltillo, 1905; later on elected to serve at Robertsdale. He is an efficient officer, performing the duties of his office without fear or favor. Has served on the election board at various times; in politics a Republican. His brothers are McAlevy, Wilson, Benjamin Franklin, Harry and William Ross; John and Harvey are deceased. Sisters are Mary and Myrtle; Julia, Fannie and Ellen are deceased. Mr. Foore married Hattie Cornelius, at Six Mile Run, Bedford County, Pa., and to this union were born Keturah, married to Thomas McGee, Robertsdale; Beryl, married to Steel Cornelius, Robertsdale, Pa.; Jane married to Eldred Crozier, Burnham, Pa.; Walter, married to Esther Miller, Robertsdale, Pa.; Clemina, married to Ernest Ross, Robertsdale, Pa.; Amanda Weistling, at home; also Russell and Albert, fourteen, at home. Hilton died at the age of usefulness, at the age of seventeen. Fred Wallace departed this life at the tender age of fifteen years. Mr. Foore is a much respected man, and in hunting season is found enjoying this sport. Since the above was written he has been elected Sheriff of Huntingdon County.1 |

Mrs. Amanda F. Ford, 76, of 400 9th St., Huntingdon, died at 3:18 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15, 1995, in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Dec. 19, 1918, in Robertsdale, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Hattie (Cornelius) Foore. She was married to Walter Ford, who preceded her in death. Surviving is a daughter to a previous marriage, Eunice Cook Wible, of Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Ford attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Huntingdon. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association for the Blind. During her life, Mrs. Ford was primarily a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Coleman officiating. Interment will be in Cassville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday, from 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the services.
