Obituary | 15 May 2022 | Obituary: The obituary for Michael was recorded in The Press Democrat in Santa Rosa, Sonoma, California, United StatesB, on 15 May 2022. Michael Lee Jones Michael Lee Jones, age 75, passed away on April 8, 2022 in Santa Rosa, CA. He was born March 5, 1947 in San Jose, CA, son of the late Stockly and Beverly Jones. Michael was raised by his late grandmother, Jessie Clinkenbeard along with uncle and aunt, Noble and Virginia Ledson, spending much of his childhood on their ranch in Kenwood. He was a very hard worker, driving tractor in the orchards, vineyards and hay fields, picking prunes, and contributing his work and talents around the family ranch. Michael left the ranch to serve his country, enlisting in the Navy and spending most of his four-years of service in Vietnam. When he returned from war, he worked on the family ranch for a short time, then began working for his cousin, Steve Ledson in construction where he learned the drywall trade. Once becoming a journeyman taper, he moved to San Diego working on large commercial construction jobs, returning to Santa Rosa after a few years continuing drywall work with Ledson Construction. Michael and his two cousins, Mars Davis and Steve Ledson, all who did not have any brothers, grew up and worked on the Ledson ranch forming a close brotherly relationship with each other throughout the years. Besides the days of hard work together, they spent many days hiking and fishing in the Trinity Alps. Michael became an avid fisherman, he used to say that it brought him back to some of his fondest childhood memories with his Uncle Noble and cousins, Steve and Mars. Michael had a fun and outgoing personality making many friends throughout his life who will miss him dearly. Over the years Michael became very close to the lord, attending church as much as possible. In the past year, Michael struggled with declining health and has now found peace with the lord. Michael is survived by his wife Marguerite Jones, his daughter Melissa Griffith, stepdaughters Marianne Richardson, Cherri Stuck, Carmen O'Keefe; grandchildren George Stuck, Michael Stuck, Kevin Oberhausen, Thomas Oberhausen, Cami Richardson, Cameron Richardson, Patrick Anderson, Ashley Anderson and Anna Anderson; sisters Vicki St. Peter, Deborah Jones, Melody Jones, and Terri Jones; cousins Steve Ledson, Mars Davis and many others. Family and friends are invited to attend outdoor services with Military Honors at 10:30 am on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Santa Rosa Memorial Park, 1900 Franklin Ave., Santa Rosa.5 |
