She was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking, hiking and exercising. She was a member of St. Odilia church choir for many years. She was very proud of getting her associates degree in her 60th year. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Survived by sons, Dennis and David (Pam); daughter, Nancy (Marc); grandchildren, Carisa and Taylor; brother, Marlyn (Joyce) Lonneman; sister, Bonnie Lonneman; brother-in-law, Noel Schoo; other family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth; sister, Lavina Schoo; grandchildren, Alexis and Luke. Arthur Clayton Noble was born December 28, 1916, the son of Ray & Anna Noble. He was baptized and confirmed in Ocheyedan, Iowa. Art served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged in November of 1945. Art was united in marriage to Leona Louise Philiph in Omaha, Nebraska, on June 18, 1946. They farmed in Iowa for ten years and then moved to Crate Township in Chippewa County where he continued farming for another 34 years, while also working part time measuring land and grain bins for the ASCS. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock where he served on numerous positions in the church council. Art was also a member of the Maynard American Legion, Montevideo American Legion and the Montevideo Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired at the age of 62 years. Following his retirement he helped his son Terry on the Farm for another 20 years and also worked for Reynold Hansen at the Fertilizer Plant in Gluek.
Art was united in marriage to Ione Seeman in Montevideo on March 6, 2004. He enjoyed "wheeling and dealing", camping with family and friends at Canary Beach Resort, spending time with grandchildren, woodworking, happy hour, playing cards, gardening, dancing and hanging out with the North Bunch friends. He loved to go for a drive and enjoy the wildlife, especially eagles and deer. He also enjoyed going to Budger's via the scenic route.
Art passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. He was 95 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Ione of Montevideo; children: Jim Noble (Judy Thompson) of Montevideo; Vicky (David) McNeil and Terry (Judy) Noble all of Maynard and Kevin (Tanya) Noble of Spicer; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; step daughter Coni (Bob) Harding of Montevideo; 2 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Leona; infant son Ronald; three brothers: Merle, Delbert & Arnold Noble; and three sisters: Fern Ketel, Evelyn Gross and Marlys Schipper.2 |
